~Anthony Jade's Bio~

Anthony Jade's interest in singing became apparent at the young age of 10. He became inspired by listening to Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Culture, and many other top DJ's and singers of the Jamaican scene. Anthony, first experience with a live audience was at the age of ten in Kingston when an elderly friend would stand him on a box while a crowd of people would gather around admiring his obvious talent for singing they were so moved by his performance that the crowds would often pay to hear him continue.

  

Anthony Jade would practice his vocal and artistic skills by challenging his
voice to make different sounds In order to stretch his vocal range. He would sing along with other Jamaican artist and friends like; Tony Curtis, Jigsy King, Brushy One String and many other aspiring musical artists.

Anthony would also practice his talent by going to bars and singing along with the instrumental versions of different reggae songs playing in the jute box. Anthony also enjoyed listening to American artists like Sam Cooke, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and the Jackson 5. He enjoyed the stylistic differences of these artists and intern was inspired to develop his own vocal versatility.

While in St. Ann Parish Jamaica, Anthony toured the talent show circuit, winning first place three times. He became noticed by a well-known producer named Courtney Cole. Cole produced several reggae songs for Jade. They included a string of popular songs such as, "Ben" originally by Michael Jackson, "Reggae Muffin", "Jesus", "Behold", and many more. Courtney Cole noticed Leroy's great versatility, diversity and penchant for soul searching, uplifting and positive songs.

Anthony Jade gained international exposure when he started performing in Miami at various concerts and festivals, such as the city's annual "Reggae Extravaganza". He also performed in New York, at the annual Jamaican Independence street celebration. This earned an invitation to perform at the city of Chicago's version of the Reggae Fest. This led to a tour in the Caribbean countries of Trinidad, and the Bahamas. Jade then returned to his home island of Jamaica to perform with popular Reggae artists like Beenie Man, Cobra, Merciless, Jigsy King, Yami Bolo, Everton Blender, Lady Saw, Garnett Silk, Sanchez, and Bounty Killer, on the popular Bayfest Concert series.

After establishing himself on the stage he then turned to the learning the business side of the music industry.

He started his own label Immigrant Records and production company Hits Productions to promote he and other up & coming Reggae artists. He also started concentrating on song writing and lyrical collaborations with other artists as well as lending his voice to several remix projects. He also began experimenting with guitar and piano arrangement to develop a more marketable style of Reggae, which he could incorporate into his own projects.

Anthony Jade has tested his abilities nationally, and internationally. He has graced the stage with some of the most celebrated Reggae artists, proving he can hold his own with the best. With his sultry voice and powerful delivery, Anthony Jade will help to define the future of Reggae Music in the 21st Century.
